A Lennox mini-split installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 depending on the number of indoor heads, the size of the condenser, and how much line set and electrical work the job needs. We stock Lennox-compatible equipment on our trucks and can usually have a single-zone system installed within a week of your call. Most Orlando owners call us after a long stretch of cooling fine and then noticing the bedroom head unit blowing warm while the living room stays cold, or after a coil freeze that thaws into a puddle on the floor.
What we see most often in this part of Central Florida is not sudden failure. It’s slow decline. A condenser that’s been half-buried in pollen and oak debris near College Park runs hotter than it should. A drain line that’s never been flushed in a Conway bungalow backs up and trips the float switch. By the time the system stops cooling, the unit has usually been struggling for months. That matters because it changes the installation conversation from “replace one part” to “replace the assembly that’s been working against Orlando humidity all along.”
Luis Serrano has spent more than two decades working on systems across Orlando, from quiet residential streets in Winter Park to commercial spaces near the Orange County Convention Center. He’ll tell you the same thing he tells every homeowner: Lennox builds good equipment, but Orlando weather treats outdoor units like a marathon. Every install we do accounts for that.
Which Lennox Models This Applies To
The parts and installation practices in this guide cover Lennox mini-split lines you’re most likely to have in an Orlando home: the MS8C and MS8E single-zone series, the MPB and MPC multi-zone series, and the older MPA and MS7 lines that are still running in plenty of Florida houses. If your condenser has a Lennox badge and a model number starting with MS, MPB, or MP, this page applies.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha worth knowing: Lennox mini-splits are not universal across generations the way some aftermarket parts catalogs suggest. A blower wheel from an MS8C will not always fit an MS8E, even at the same BTU rating. The control boards differ between the MS8 and MPB series, and the motor plugs changed around 2019. When we install a replacement part or a full system, we match by the full model number on the side of the condenser and the indoor head, not by “Lennox mini-split” as a general category.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Lennox specifically: we stock genuine Lennox OEM parts for warranty work and for installs where the original board or motor failed early. For out-of-warranty systems where the OEM part is backordered or the price difference is $200 or more, we’ll offer a quality aftermarket equivalent and tell you upfront which one it is, what the warranty is, and why we’re comfortable installing it. No surprises either way. We also stock compatible parts for Carrier and Trane mini-splits, so if you’re comparing quotes across brands, we can help with those too.

Signs Your Lennox Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- One head blows cold, another blows room-temperature. This usually points to a failing electronic expansion valve in the indoor head or a refrigerant charge that’s drifted low enough to starve the farthest coil. Mini-splits don’t tolerate low charge the way old central systems did; performance drops off fast at the farthest head from the condenser.
- Water dripping from the indoor unit onto the floor or wall. The drain pan and drain line on a Florida mini-split collect algae fast because of our humidity. When the line clogs, the pan overflows. We see this more in houses near Lake Eola and the Conway chain of lakes, where air moisture is highest.
- The outdoor unit runs but the fan barely spins, or cycles on and off every few minutes. Inverter boards throttle constantly and that’s normal, but short hard cycling every ninety seconds usually means a failing inverter board or a condenser coil that’s choked with debris. Pollen season in Orlando kills airflow on outdoor coils.
- Ice forms on the indoor coil during a hot afternoon. That’s low airflow or low charge. If the filter is clean and you still see frost creeping up the coil in July, the system needs a service call before the compressor eats itself.
- Electrical smell or a breaker that trips when the system ramps up. Mini-split condensers draw their highest current at start. A breaker that trips intermittently could mean a dying capacitor, a failing compressor, or a wiring issue. Don’t reset it and try again. Call us.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For an Orlando Lennox mini-split installation, here’s what we quote based on the job:
- Single-zone system, one indoor head, no electrical panel upgrade: $3,500 to $4,800 installed.
- Two-zone system, two indoor heads, standard line set runs: $5,000 to $6,500 installed.
- Three-to-four-zone system, longer line sets, possibly new circuit and disconnect: $6,500 to $7,500 installed.
What drives the range in Orlando: how many indoor heads you’re running, the distance from the condenser to each head (line set length matters for refrigerant and labor), whether your electrical panel has room for a new double-pole breaker, and whether the old system’s line set needs replacing due to age or incompatible sizing. The price we give you includes equipment, line set, condensate drainage, electrical connection, wall bracket or stand, evacuation with a micron gauge, startup, and a written warranty on the installation. We write the price on paper before any work starts, every time. No allowances, no “we’ll see how it goes.”
Warranty on the work: the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation for a full year. If something isn’t right in that window, we make it right. No runarounds.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things you can safely do yourself: clean the reusable filters in the indoor heads every thirty days, keep the outdoor coil clear of leaves and grass clippings, and pour a half-cup of white vinegar down the drain line once a month during cooling season. Those basics prevent half the failures we see in Orlando.
But installing a Lennox mini-split is not a weekend project, and we say that honestly. The system ships with pressurized nitrogen, the line set connections require flaring to exact tolerances, the unit must be evacuated to a deep vacuum before the refrigerant valves open, and the electrical work must land on a properly sized breaker. Get a flare wrong and the system leaks refrigerant slowly for months before it dies. Get the electrical wrong and you’re risking a lot more than a warm bedroom. Mini-split refrigerant lines run at high pressure. This is one of those jobs where the cost of a professional install is less than the cost of fixing a DIY attempt.

FAQs
A well-installed Lennox mini-split in Orlando typically lasts 10 to 14 years, though systems near the coast or next to a pool can run shorter due to salt and chemical exposure on the condenser coil. The indoor heads generally outlast the outdoor unit, which is why some owners replace just the condenser when the compressor fails. Call (850) 845-8659 if you’re weighing a repair against a full install; we’ll give you the straight math.
Yes, we repair Lennox mini-splits regularly, and a repair on AC systems in Orlando runs $150 to $650 depending on the part. The repair-versus-replace decision usually comes down to the age of the system and whether the compressor or inverter board is the failed component. When a condenser is fifteen years old and the compressor dies, replacement is the better money. We’ll show you both numbers and let you decide.
A typical single-zone Lennox mini-split installation takes one full day, including line set runs, electrical connection, evacuation, and startup testing. A two-to-four-zone system can take two to three days depending on how many wall penetrations and how long the line set runs are. We’ll give you a set install date and a set price before we schedule anything.
We stock the most common Lennox mini-split service parts on our trucks, including capacitors, control boards for MS8 and MPB series, blower wheels, drain pumps, remote sensors, and contactors. For less common parts like specific inverter boards or compressor assemblies, we order from our Orlando-area supply chain and typically have the part within two to four business days. Call (850) 845-8659 and we’ll tell you right away whether the part your system needs is already on the truck.
